Created spontaneously during a trip to Kyiv, Shedding Quietly began as an instinctive experiment and unfolded into a raw exploration of identity, appearance, and the silent expectations placed on women. Through distorted and surreal portraiture, the series examines how societal pressure reshapes the sense of self — blurring the line between authenticity and presentation. One of the looks reveals bruises and scars, a direct metaphor for the process of uncovering what lies beneath perfection — the traces of vulnerability, survival, and truth we’re often asked to conceal. At its core, Shedding Quietly is about transformation and reclamation — shedding the layers built to please or protect, and confronting what remains once they’re gone. photography: @nikolaevalina muah: @jenn.zenn model: Maria @mimodels.management
